A) As a student of History, this historian weeps every time I turn a new page to REAL stories of our Past. More will follow over time.
B) Our federal government, in the 19th century, set out to assimilate what were left of our once proud Native American people and cultures into an existing "national identity." Children were taken away from their parents and "homes" and sent to boarding schools to become typical "Americans", including learning and being taught proper English and to wear typical "American" clothes. NO centuries-old traditions and customs from previous tribal cultures were tolerated!
C) Reminds me, also, of what happened in Australia with the Australoids, Aborigines, culture. PLEASE check out, especially view, "RABBIT PROOF FENCE". This film is PG and came out in 2002, with Peter Gabriel's soundtrack. YOU will follow the "Long Walk Home" through the eyes of Molly. I hope that you will realize the importance of either reading the book or viewing this film, or both, to understand more about the plight of the original first Australians! 22- HMMM, NOW, PRESIDENT RONALD WILSON REAGAN WAS AN EXCELLENT SPEAKER!!!....
I've taken the time to go back and listen to a parcel of exerpts from President Reagan's SPEECHES. He WAS a superb speaker, thinking on his feet, inspiring. As a former avid Toastmaster's Club grad, as stated in an earlier blog, Reagan would have graduated with highest honors.
When, uh, you, ah ah ah, listen to uh, ah, uh another uh.....ah president "touted" as a "good" uh, speaker, ah, and put uh uh him ah, side by uh uh side, with Reagan? Go ahead and do it, please!
As mentionioned in an earlier blog, this historian did listen to Governor Reagan in a packed house speech in Charlottesville once upon a time. WOW...WOW!!

21- WHILE OUR BROTHER And SISTER IRANIAN STUDENTS WERE BEING KILLED And BEATEN?....
Guess who was ordering ice cream in public, with photographers in tow, while tens of freedom-loving Iranian students, especially many coeds, were being BEATEN and SLAUGHTERED by government thugs?
And who ordered the slaughtering? He is called "the supreme.....". Supreme? I will stand up and say that this "religious" supreme "leader" is a common thug, murdering his own people, all in the name of Allah? This Philosophy major studied in detail the religions of the world in school, and I have a deep understanding of many of them. Reading from this religion's holy book, I do not believe that Allah said or would say that murder in the name of the state is permissable!

19- WOMEN...WOMEN In HISTORY's PAST And ESPECIALLY NOW!!!!!
This student of history knows full well that even in our America WOMEN did not get their right to vote until the 19th Amendment early in the 20th century! Men controlled society in many ways.
I will be, now, on the record to say that the women of the world deserve and must demand that they will be treated equally in every way. That means NO MORE subservient roles in world societies...NO MORE being forced, as women, to cover their heads unless THEY so choose to do so...NO MORE being stoned or killed for being a women.....
France's President, Nicholas Sarkozy, announced on June 22nd that 'burkas' are "not welcome in France", that the women are "prisoners behind screens". He also noted that the 'burka' is a sign of subjugation for women and not a religious sign! The French National Assembly will begin studying ways to restrict its use in France.
At one time, in history, men were required to wear a burka...no longer, just women. The Koran, by the way, does not mention the use of a 'burka'.

Most of us feel that he is a huge treat to the world's peace with his vowing that Israel will be buried and his avowed nuclear threats! His background is the Iranian "special forces"....

e- This is the time for a revolution in Iran to oust the totalitarianism regime. It does not represent the masses of intelligent and otherwise respected Iranians and their long glorius history in the Middle East area of the world.

g- 60% of the Iranians are under 30. They are growing up in a much different world than back in 1979 and do not want the corrupt leaders that are squandering the country's oil wealth.

What will we do...oh MY, what WILL we do? They fly all around us...they crawl under our feet...we battle them in our homes and businesses?
With 6+ billion humans on Earth, did you realize that someone/s has calculated that there are, collectively, approximately 170,000,000 insects for every ONE (1) HUMAN?

15- OUR FELLOW DEMOCRACY-SEEKING YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE STREETS OF IRAN!!!...P-A-T-R-I-O-T-S!!!!!!
These hundreds of thousands of young Iranian patriots are absolute heroes, taking on the antithesis of democracy in the last straw of corruptive and fraudent power by the Mullah clerics in Iran. And America, and the world, are sitting back and watching. Can you imagine, back in OUR Revolution in the late 18th century, when We, our patriots, dared to revolt against the strongarm of the English?....and the world sat back? Thank, France, for whatever the reason, for coming to our aid back during those "dark days" of our Nation's origins!
We MUST, in some way, come to the aid of our democracy-seeking YOUTH in Iran!!! Remember Tiananmen Square in 1989. I do, especially the photo I saved of WONG RAY LIN, stepping out in front of a mighty tank to stop the takeover. Remember that YOUNG MAN wearing the white shirt? This passionate believer of American democracy enlarged that tiny pic in Parade to honor WONG RAY LIN, to make sure that I would not forget!

And, no, it's not to communicate with the public! It's a ploy to "persuade" a gullible public and to fixate on oneself. Enough narcissism is...enough!!!

13- ALASKAN GOV. SARAH PALIN.......
This avid historian, political commentary writer and Jeffersonian thinker continues to be a STRONG supporter of what Gov. Palin stands for and stands up for since her nomination as a Vice Presidential candidate "last year."
a- She is courageous, as quite evident, over the past months!
b- She manages to "run" a State's government and to be the mother figure for her children and family!
c- With the latest demeaning and slanderous trash this week from the unfunny comedian about Pallin's daughter, she held her own and turned around to protect and defend her daughter's verbal attack from a hatemonger. it was, by the way, a hate crime! Can you image, for one moment, if someone had verbally and publicly abused the Prez' daughters? When our current V.P.'s daughter recently was actually filmed doing drugs, her transgressions were quickly forgotten in the public's eyes. '
d- And did you catch the vulgar comment about Gov. Pallin looking like an 'airline stewardess slut'? That was the lowest slam on the good name of thousands of airline stewardesses now and over the years! Anyone who has EVER flown on a commercial flight knows how our flight attendents really work!
e- Where has N.O.W. been over the past months when ignorants attacked Gov. Pallin? What would happen in America if our Sec. of State was publicly called a 'slut'?
f- And even more importantly....why hasn't the Prez spoken out and demanded that NO public official's children or women be "attacked"? Be a leader, Prez!!!!!
g- Remember the Don Imus comments and incident? He apologized, and after being canned by CBS, sought out the basketball team and, to their faces, apologized!
h- And CBS? Has CBS, in any way, censored that 'pretend comedian' for making such sickening comments about a 14-year-old girl? Has American society spoken up and out about that 'comedian'? By the way, the non-clever comedian got the wrong daughter in his slobbery comments on national TV! By the way, Johnny Carson and Jay Leno would never, did never stoop to such low attacks against children of public figures.

12- INTERESTING WHERE A CHINESE BUFFET TURNED UP?....
Recently, leaving from a checkup at noon, I smelled and then noticed bags of Chinese dishes being brought into the back area of the offices.
"Lunch?" I asked.
"One of the pharmaceutical companies supplies our lunch for the offices. They take turns. Hey, it's free."
Let's see, now, I wonder if that's going on across America? And I wonder why our meds and healthcare costs seem to be so 'high'? And I wonder what those
pharmaceutical companies are receiving in return?
Yes, I often "wonder as I wander!"
